WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?

Physiotherapy

Chiropractic care corrects misalignments of the spine. Misalignments are most commonly caused by one prolonged lack of motion. Other common causes include trauma, overuse, and nutritional deficiencies. If there is a misalignment it will  restrict motion. This motion is measured within your joints. A joint connects a bone to a bone. Every joint is designed to move in a specific motion that is ideal for proper body mechanics. When a motion becomes restricted, another region will begin to have to much motion in order to compensate.

This is why if a misalignment goes uncorrected, degeneration will begin within the spine. The first stage is a straightening of your neck. A human head weighs about the weight of a bowling ball. Our necks are designed to have a C- curve to help balance the weight. As the neck becomes straighter with improper motion, the spine will continue to  degenerate faster. Degeneration is another word for ARTHRTITIS.

Improper motion can start to put pressure on your nerves decreasing their signal strengths. A nerve is made up of 3 parts. About 40-50% controls all of your muscles (voluntary), another 40-50% controls your organs (involuntary), and the last 5-20% is your sensation. Your sensation controls pain. Therefore, if you are feeling pain, your organs and muscles are ALSO getting affected even if there are no current signs and symptoms.

Chiropractors are trained to analyze these motions in order to correct the misalignments to create an optimal functioning nervous system. This explains why chiropractic can help decrease pain along with healing various symptoms from improper nerve function.
